Supply Planning Director

VANS EMEA is looking for an exceptional Director of Supply Planning to join our Supply Chain team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s Talk about the Role

You, as Director, Supply Planning Vans EMEA, are accountable for ensuring product supply into the EMEA region meets the needs of our customers and consumers while meeting VF’s financial objectives.  You will cover the supply planning and supply chain operations for the different Brand channels ranging from DTC, Wholesale, and Marketplace.

You and your team will ensure regional Vans demand needs and priorities are communicated to, and considered in the global Vans supply plan, respecting various regional/global demand priorities and supply constraints. You monitor the demand/supply match for the Brand, communicate supply issues to the commercial stakeholders, and look for satisfactory resolution of coverage issues in partnership with the Brand teams and upstream supply chain teams.

Reporting to you will be will be the Supply Planning and SC Operations leads.

How You Will Make a Difference:  

You will partner closely with Brand Regional Commercial Leadership, MCO, Product Supply, Finance, Logistics, Distribution, & Quality to ensure stakeholder needs are being met, execution is sound, and processes & technology capabilities are evolving to capture value for the region. 

You will be accountable for driving the execution of the seamless flow of goods from buy plan up to delivery in our DCs while participating in the strategic work to continue evolving capabilities in support of the regional commercial plans such as driving for and scaling new supply models. 

You will achieve this by:

  • Setting buy strategy for Vans EMEA, ensuring optimal inventory levels to support seasonal business needs while minimizing supply risks and collaborating with regional counterparts to ensure known SC risks are communicated effectively to key stakeholders and are mitigated appropriately;
  • Driving strategic partnership with key stakeholders from the Brand Commercial Teams, MCO, Finance, COE, and other Supply Chain Functions to collectively drive progress and value for the Vans customers, consumers, and VF;
  • Participating and influencing the seasonal cross-channel consensus and S&OP meetings within the Brand and SC platforms. Contributing to both the brand and corporate OTB preparation and validation in collaboration with MCO;
  • Leading and ensuring the timely publication of an accurate supply plan in line with OTB approvals across channels to drive high service while optimizing inventory levels, incorporating constraints and supporting the different SC complexities
  • Coordinating deadlines with our global and regional counterparts and assuring the execution of accurate and timely SKU buys in line with main stakeholders and with a focus on high buy acceptance rates
  • Influencing the SCO line reviews to maximize line list efficiency within agreed deadlines and parameters
  • Supporting the team in managing vendor delays and general delivery problems, assuring necessary stakeholders are informed and working with Product Supply Planning, Logistics and DC to mitigate gaps, setting production and inbound priorities to obtain effective order coverage and inventory results
  • Assisting the team in the management, reporting and communication of supply/demand match, cross-dock, and direct shipping across a multi-node DC model
  • Collaborating with key Brand partners to minimize costs while maximizing service across a multi-node inventory environment.  This includes but is not limited to effective PO re-routing, executing re-balancing and out of zone opportunities, and monitoring air freight status identifying areas of risks and opportunities.
  • Accountable for achieving supply planning operational metrics, protecting key P&L targets, and assuring department activities, procedures and reporting are being implemented, documented and carried out correctly and within agreed deadlines. 

Skills for Success:

  • Extensive experience in relevant roles, and solid managerial experience.
  • Experience in building, coaching, and managing high-performing supply planning teams 
  • Strong analytical, organization and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellence in planning methodologies
  • Ability to manage priorities, and deadlines in a highly complex environment
  • Proactive approach with a “continuous improvement” mindset, willing to challenge the status quo
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment where priorities frequently change

Relocation support may be available to applicants, working-from-home arrangements are possible (up to 2 days every week) but the role cannot be performed fully remotely.
