Responsibilities:
Business Controlling
- Lead the Business and Derivatives Controlling team and act as the global coordinator for the company’s relevant activities
- Performance of daily mark-to-market evaluation of trading portfolios as well as result reporting to stakeholders in management, trading, finance and risk management
- Provide management and other stakeholders with reports, KPIs, forecasts and analyses
- Coordinate the company’s budgeting processes
- Perform training of relevant stakeholders and safeguard the company’s knowledge
Derivative Controlling
- Provide stakeholders with timely and accurate information on derivative transactions, including result reporting, trading fees, hedge ratio-, hedge efficiency-, and forecasting accuracy analyses
- Support accounting in financial / month-end reporting for derivatives
- Ensure financial reporting compliance for derivative processes and act as contact for internal and external auditors
- Support the company in implementing new business models and hedging programs
- Drive further development of the company’s trading platform as key user to trade system provider
- Enhance controlling systems and interfaces to the company’s data structures, visualize relevant information and set up management and stakeholder reporting
Derivative Operations
- Design the derivative operations processes, ensuring efficient reporting and internal controls
- Ensure the correct and prompt import of derivative deals into the trading system; verify plausibility of market data and deal valuations
- Supervise derivative confirmation management, futures offsetting, derivative settlements and invoicing processes
- Act as senior interface function to back offices of counterparties
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of reported data provided to the financial market regulators
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as business administration, finance/ accounting or commodity trading
- Strong knowledge of controlling, accounting, commodity and derivatives trading and operations, procurement business processes, hedging, multi-commodity deal evaluation as well as market risk management, with at least 5 years of operational experience
- Advanced knowledge about derivatives evaluation and accounting
- Knowledge and work experience regarding financial market regulations is a plus
- Excellent analytical and strong strategic thinking, interdisciplinary problem-solving skills for complex challenges in a multi-commodity trading platform
- Effective communication, team-working and interpersonal skills; leadership experience is a plus
- Fluent English and German in written and spoken
- international professional experience and strong intercultural versatility
