Our client is a reputable and globally active pharmaceutical company. For their EMEA headquarters in Zug, we are looking for a Finance Manager to ensure the accounting of the holding company and to collaborate closely with the EMEA locations and the Shared Service Center. The position is to be filledimmediately on a temporary basis, with the potential for a long-term engagement.

Finance Manager (12-month contract with the possibility to become permanent)

Your responsibilities:

  • Performing day to day accounting operations, maintaining books of accounts, periodic accounts close and preparing financial statements
  • Working closely with the statutory auditors to get financial statements audited in compliance with Swiss statutory requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with local laws in routine operations as well as special cases, determining transfer price of products in consultation with marketing, finance and manufacturing teams and actively participating in tax planning projects
  • Closely interacting with the Shared Service Center and the taxation teams of global HQ while meeting the timelines
  • Being responsible for periodic updates to VP Finance EMEA with financial analysis on routine operations as well as special projects etc.
  • Interacting effectively with vendors and customers to ensure adherence to agreements, timely cash flow and working capital management
  • Regularly reviewing agreements/contracts of the company and their financial and legal impact in consultation with the Business Development and Legal team
  • Effectively managing treasury activities by matching cash inflows and outflows, liaising with banks and financial institutions, keeping a tab on debt levels and compliance with export import documentation and certification
  • Preparing and implementing standard operating practices to keep all the financial reports and analysis in sync with the practices and requirements of global HQ
  • Establishing internal control processes required to manage and grow the business
  • Supporting VP Finance EMEA in implementing various business and functional initiatives carried out at local and regional level
  • Supporting and playing a key role in IT initiatives and to ensure effective implementation of various tools, sysmtems and packages

Your profile:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance/Tax or comparable further training
  • Qualified accountant (i.e. ACCA or eidg. Fachausweis) with 6+ years post qualification experience, preferably at a managerial level
  • High result orientation with attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical ability
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure
  • Excellent English skills – any additional language would be of advantage
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to work
  • Experience in analysing and interpreting complex data sets.
  • Competent/advanced Microsoft Office user. Knowledge of SAP is a must
