Policy Analyst International Investment POLICY ANALYST INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT



The World Economic Forum committed to improving the state of the world is the international organization for public-private cooperation.



The Forum engages the foremost political business and other leaders of society to shape global regional and industry agendas.



The Forum has recently formulated priority policy options for trade and investment reform through the E15 Initiative www.e15initiative.org . This global policy dialogue convened 400 leading thinkers and 16 Partner institutions through 80 workshops delivering more than 150 policy white papers. The Policy Analyst will work with colleagues business contacts Partner institutions governments and other stakeholders on advancing and communicating the policy content of the trade and investment practice.



The successful candidate will support the Forum's Trade and Investment System in advancing delivery coalitions building on E15 Initiative material and other internal and external work such as the Geneva Investment Policy Dialogues.



Duties and Responsibilities




Advancing the Forum's investment policy programme with responsibility for content activity development and coordination related to FDI policy investment protection/ISDS investment promotion facilitation and trade and investment nexus the role includes shaping a voice in international forums such as WTO OECD APEC G20 and B20 and developing a series of Forum-branded international dialogues on FDI regime reform
Developing an implementation plan for a Global Value Chain Partnership within the Forum's New Vision for Development Project/Inclusive Development Hub in collaboration with the World Bank the project aims to facilitate analysis and dialogue between businesses governments and other stakeholders on how public policy can enable additional value chain-related foreign investment ensuring a strong contribution to sustainable development
Supporting other areas of the Forum's Trade and Investment practice including content and activity related to trade and development regulatory issues digital trade taxation competition environment and climate change and other trade and investment architecture issues
Helping to develop the team's knowledge platform on trade and investment which includes being a content resource for Forum events and taking on speaking and writing engagements
Providing support for the Trade and Investment System Community Management including regular contact tracking and administrative and logistics support for preparation and delivery of Forum meetings and related events event organization invitations content and publicity
Further developing the value proposition of the investment policy practice engaging business governments and international organizations to harness resources for the Forum's international trade and investment platform




Qualifications and Skills




Strong academic background in trade and investment policy with a master's degree or equivalent in law economics international relations or public administration
Knowledge of trade and international investment is a requirement and in-depth knowledge of the international investment regime's main difficulties and opportunities a valuable asset
At least five years' professional experience familiarity with policy-making in governments international organizations investment disputes at law firms or at business policy units an advantage
Perfect command of written and spoken English able to deliver flawless content for publication public speaking skills and command of an additional language of common usage within the trade and investment community also an asset
Understanding experience and network related to trade and investment policy
Excellent communication organizational and time-management skills
Quick learner self-starter flexible and customer-oriented team player able to work under pressure and in a quick-changing environment




Duration of contract six months with the possibility of an extension.
