Senior Manager, Operations (Inbound Logistics)

VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Senior Manager, Operations (Inbound Logistics) to join our Inbound Logistics Team. The role will be based in Stabio, Switzerland.

As a Senior Manager, Operations (Inbound Logistics) you will be collaborating actively with global stakeholders to deliver key Logistics Deliverables towards the business.

You will be responsible for the following aspects of the role:

  • Manages external logistics providers (Ocean/Air/Rail/Truck) to ensure service and cost outcomes are optimized.
  • Accountable for driving network adherence to logistics delivery process, standards and compliance into the EMEA region.
  • Support the Inbound Logistics Director, Operations, Customer Service & Distribution team to deliver logistics performance to drive Cost, Cash and Services Delivery commitment.
  • Peak capacity coordination with the inbound carrier networks, inclusive of forecasting and management of necessary capacity.
  • Drive execution & support change management when it comes to implementation of new process, project or system related change.
  • Collaborate actively with: EMEA Supply Chain operational stakeholders (Brand Supply Planning teams, SC Finance, DC’s, Customs…), EMEA Inbound Logistics Center of Excellence team, Global Logistics teams, Global Sourcing teams, External stakeholders (eg Logistics service providers, vendors, CASS, Infor,..)
  • Build, lead and develop a diverse team of colleagues, including distant team members.

How you will make the difference:

  • Leveraging and developing Logistics platform solutions capabilities, both within EMEA and Global Logistics teams:
    • Collaborate actively with EMEA Supply chain operations enabling teams (Supply Planning, Customer Service, Fulfilment centers, Customs, and Finance) to understand and further develop strategies and tools to support Logistics functions, especially related to financial management, operations KPI’s, planning and optimization, and visibility processes.
    • Collaborate actively with Asia Logistics and Global Logistics counterparts to implement global initiatives with efficiency leverages (cost, lead-time and sustainability).
    • Work closely with Global Logistics Procurement team on Ocean/Air Tender process; providing input and insight on EMEA requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with Supply chain Operations team across all brands. Actively holding all parties accountable for optimize supply chain flow through regular monthly/quarterly business reviews.
  • Understanding and communicating to all stakeholders’ future services and cost impacts resulting from changes in market conditions, network changes, product volume / mix changes, mode changes, etc.
  • Proactively managing reviews and reacts to monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and coordinate operations and business reviews with logistics providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Delivering monthly Accrual financial reporting to EMEA Supply Chain Finance team.
  • Providing essential network analysis for service, cost & routing decisions.
  • Evolve local EMEA inbound logistics strategy to remain relevant in an ever-changing market.  Participate in strategy planning sessions with Operations, Center of Excellence, and Distribution.

How you will make a difference

  • Strong analytical skill set in MS Excel + proven experience in visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI
  • Minimum of five years of related experience, preferably in an international business environment with strong financial acumen
  • Ability to leverage sophisticated analytical or problem-solving technique.
  • Fluent in English (speaking and written)
  • Ability to travel 15 % (Europe)
  • Growth mindset, Resourceful, Collaborative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written + speaking)
  • Service and customer oriented, with focus on details, understanding business requirements.

Other skills that are an advantage:

  • Exposure to Project/Program management
  • Exposure to and knowledge of in-transit visibility tools (Infor Nexus), ERP systems (SAP/Cass)
  • Exposure to logistics & transportation industry
  • Experience in FMG industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain or related field
