Assistant/Senior Assistant

The Institute of Veterinary Anatomy represents in research and teaching the macroscopic (gross) and microscopic anatomy as well as the embryology of domestic mammals. Currently, there are four research groups at the Institute, which work on research projects related to reproductive biology and endocrinology. The teaching tasks consist of providing basics in anatomy and histology for the veterinary medicine students of the first year course, as well as of deepening the already acquired basic knowledge in the block teaching of specific organ systems in the second and third year course. Furthermore, the Institute of Veterinary Anatomy participates in the clinical teaching for the fourth year course.

Your responsibilities

Independent work in research and teaching. The share of teaching will be defined individually giving opportunities for career development. You strive for your further scientific qualification (habilitation) within your own research field and have experience in lecturing and teaching. In addition to financial support by the Institute, you will independently attract third-party funding. The research groups established at the Institute are specialized in the field of reproductive biology and endocrinology and are currently strongly supported by competitive-acquired funding from the SNSF.


Your profile

Degree in veterinary or human medicine (DVM/MD) and PhD. You have profound knowledge in cell culture techniques and/or molecular biology methods, which you will integrate in the Institute. You enjoy teaching anatomy and has experience as a lecturer. The language of instruction at UZH is German. You are committed, self-motivated and enjoy working in a team.
Language skills: German (lecturing) and English
