Meteomatics is growing faster than you can say lightning! And we're now looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join us in St. Gallen ⚡

Be ready to use your creativity and security skills: You will work in a newly formed Security unit within the Infrastructure Team, creating, maintaining and improving our security solutions; protecting our systems and data from cyber-attacks.

What you'll do

• Work closely with the Data Protection Officer to shape the way forward for cyber security in Meteomatics.
• Proactively ensure the best practices and highest levels of security for hundreds of systems, petabytes of data, and a unique SaaS that must run 24/7/365.
• Create, improve and enforce cyber security policies.
• Support IT and developers to create secure solutions.
• Hands-on definition, configuration and maintenance of policies, protocols and infrastructure to secure Meteomatics.
• Test, monitor and identify vulnerabilities, along with providing hands-on support to fix them.
• Verify and fix external and internal security reports.
• Respond to security breaches and incidents.
• Stay up to date with cyber security trends.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or Systems Engineering or a related field, and/or relevant certifications and qualifications.
• Previous experience in IT Security.
• Knowledge of best practices such as RBAC or zero-trust principles.
• Knowledge of security-related technologies and implementations such as Firewalls, PAM-, IDS/IPS-, SIEM- and WAF-solutions.
• Common infrastructure knowledge such as Networking and Linux administration.
• Experience and/or knowledge of standards such as ISO 27001, NIST 800, etc. is a strong advantage.
• Programming skills in Python, Bash or other scripting languages is an advantage
• Previous and current participation in CTFs / Wargames is an advantage.
• Very good written and spoken English is required. Other languages are an advantage but not required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in new technologies and willingness to constantly improve yourself and your team.
