Senior Manager Global Customs (Valuation & Audit Specialist) (m/f/d)

Purpose

Manage customs valuation methodology for all global business models and leading response on any valuation topics arising from customs audits that happen globally. Support, manage and assist Global Customs compliance and analysis on a wide range of customs topics, based on defined priorities and goals to ensure operational compliance and reduce risk.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage customs elements of ad hoc projects assigned.
  • Define the customs valuation methodology for all imports and exports for all core business models. Documenting and maintenance of valuation procedures and position papers, including royalty procedures and processes.
  • Manage royalty uplift methodologies and calculations.
  • Support the Assist process and calculation.
  • Support and assist in coordinating customs risk management and audit responses.
  • Represent adidas on international Trade and Customs committees.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of relevant Customs’ processes and procedures on a global basis
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and explain governmental regulations
  • Strong research, writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation and project management skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills, and ability to work and deliver in dynamic environments while adhering to specified deadlines
  • Team player, enthusiasm, and desire to learn
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) essential
  • Knowledge of adidas based software a benefit (e.g., SAP, TradeCard, MicroStrategy)

Qualifications

  • A degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of law, international trade, business, economics, logistics, supply or equivalent experience in customs business.
  • 5-8 years of experience in international customs operations, ideally in the apparel & footwear industries.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
