Regional Head of Digital Europe 100% (on fixed term for 1 year)

​The Regional Head of Digital is reporting to the Head of IT Strategy & Managment Services and plays a critical role in enabling a close collaboration between the Group Functions, the Regional and the Digital Transformation teams to specifically lead the digital initiatives in Region Europe, as well as Group Finance and Group HR (Human Resources) functions. This role is crucial in ensuring that the organization's digital strategies are effectively implemented (on time and within budget) and digital capabilities are maximized to achieve business goals.


  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including regional and country leadership, functional heads, and cross-functional teams, to understand their digital needs, gain buy-in for digital projects, and align efforts with business objectives.

  • In collaboration with regional management formulate and drive the regional digitalization strategy and roadmap in alignment with the overall organizational digital strategy.

  • Evaluate new demands, including identifying optimizing existing service, to ensure alignment to business goals and objectives. Ensure that projects deliver the expected benefits, and both business and technology team resources are optimized for maximum impact.

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and platforms, offered by Global Digital Services team, that can drive digital innovation and efficiency in the region.

  • Communicate progress and outcomes of digitalization efforts to regional leadership and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure that Technology investments spending aligns with the strategic goals and priorities of the region and support controllership in managing and informing the Region on the run costs.

  • In order to maximize the return on digitalization investments, support financial planning and analysis team in defining and tracking the realization of the intended benefits, which is essential for demonstrating the value of projects.

  • Develop and implement change management strategies together with the digital transformation and the regional team, to facilitate the adoption of digital solutions among users.

  • Prepare and submit due diligence reports in relation to the technology area for Divestments, Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) projects.


  • ​University Degree in Computer Science or related field, MBA is a plus

  • 10+ years in an IT management position, preferably in mining industry, with experience in managing multiple, large global cross-functional teams or projects and stakeholders

  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels, from clients to C-suite executives (English required)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to “think out of the box" in order to remove obstacles and drive ahead

  • Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement, multicultural awareness

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in digital transformation

  • Strong business judgment and intellectual maturity; ability to craft solutions that appropriately balance risk and business objectives

  • Fluent English required, multilingual is a plus

  • 30% - 40% travelling time
