Head of IT System Operations

Olten |up to 40% Home Office | Reference 6177

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the responsible for the Operations team within the Swiss IT Custody area. This pivotal role involves overseeing the operations of critical applications in a large IT environment. This position offers a hybrid work model, with three days onsite at our Olten office in Switzerland.

What You Will Do

• coordinating diverse activities including, version updates, ensuring timely resolution of system vulnerabilities within the IT Custody domain, proper escalation of any potential service disruption or issue etc.
• managing security and compliance to internal standards
• scheduling and executing operational processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Proactive monitoring of application performance and ensuring that availability is as per prescribed SLA
• collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and information flow
• implementing releases and version upgrades based on SIX DevOps best practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
• utilizing a range of distributed platforms technologies including Linux RHEL, COBOL/DB2, Apache Tomcat, Microfocus Enterprise server, Splunk, BMC Patrol, JIRA, GITLAB, Ansible, Kubernetes, OpenShift

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• relevant experience managing operations teams, preferably in a complex technology-driven environment
• excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• proactive mindset with a flexible and responsible approach to work
• proficiency in English at level C1 and strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• adaptability to evolving technologies and industry trends
