About this role

  • You will be part of the executive committee and drive our further global expansion from a finance perspective to address the rapidly increasing demand for our products and solutions.
  • Your entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach in strategy implementation and finance leadership will enable you to effectively manage growth funding, global expansion planning, finance and talent management. The role includes setting up and governing new subsidiaries around the world from a financial and commercial management perspective.
  • You will be responsible for the finance and HR functions and report directly to the CEO. Key priorities include financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting as well as managing growth funding rounds with existing and new investors, managing costs and profitability, as well as overseeing talent management and recruiting. 
  • You will be directly involved in investor and board meetings to represent and discuss all financial and funding matters end-to-end.
  • You will oversee the closing of quarterly and annual financial statements and coordinate the necessary activities with accountants and the auditors.
  • Precision, accuracy, reliability as well as endurance, dedication and commitment are indispensable traits to succeed in this role.
  • The job requires an in-depth understanding of the value chain spanning engineering & product development, production, logistics, sales and marketing.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for financial management including accounting, controlling and reporting
  • Translating business strategy into financial models
  • Be a sparring partner to the executive committee
  • Financial planning & modelling, budgeting, forecasting and cash management
  • Fundraising (8-figure VC-led growth funding rounds) including elaboration of pitch decks, investor outreaches, managing due diligence processes, coordinating legal counsels to implement investment transactions
  • Commercial support re. pricing of key contracts
  • Proactive improvement of business & finance processes (implementation of cost accounting, streamlining of financial data flows across the organization)
  • Manage the accounting team and oversee operational accounting, payroll, controlling and tax matters
  • Oversight of quarterly and annual closing, financial reporting and tax filings
  • Report key financials to executive committee and board of directors
  • Lead financial audit and transaction related topics
  • Oversight and further development of the HR function 

 

Who we are looking for

We look for an experienced finance executive with a strong commercial background in industrial, manufacturing or aviation environments. You are a driven personality with an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on attitude to move the business forward. You are a team player with a clear vision to build and run a world-class finance function. You understand business risks and opportunities and act as a strategic business partner for the CEO. You have previously worked in a finance management role in rapidly growing technology company (start-up/scale-up).

 

Key requirements

  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles with solid knowledge of accounting standards and practices
  • Strong background in strategy, business planning, and commercial topics
  • Hands-on experience in fundraising with institutional investors/VCs
  • Ability and drive to independently strategize and solve complex problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, can-do attitude
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Fluent in English, German and any third language is a plus
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
  • High degree of flexibility
