Our client, a successful, global organisation, now requires a Key Account Manager for one of its premium, European retail brands. The role will have responsibility for expanding business relationships with retail key account customers, throughout Switzerland and Austria.
There will be remote working with this role.

Job description:

As the Key Account Manager for Austria and Switzerland, the main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • the active development of networks and acquisition of new chains in the B2C retail channel, in line with strategy
  • the support and establishment of new stores in the retail channel and customer base
  • the creation of the product selection for listing discussions, the development and adaptation of listing files and the calculation of prices in conjunction with the wider business
  • growth of smart residential and mechanical products in the region based on agreed KPIs
  • working with appropriate marketing colleagues to deliver robust commercial plans for customers and point of sales marketing, to grow sales
  • the determination of potential data and market information, including competitive analysis and providing feedback to the business development and product team on competitor products in the market
  • the introduction of new products to retail customers, the checking and evaluation of customer requirements in cooperation with internal interfaces and local product managers and teams, the coordination of models with the customer
  • the planning, management, and follow-up of negotiations with buyers and other decisionmakers
  • the presentation and training of the product range
  • ensuring content and customer product presentation is accurate and appropriate (offline and online where applicable) for key target groups
  • the design and implementation of shelf concepts, taking customer-specific requirements into account
  • direct contact and local facilitation with appropriate field sales agency
  • maintaining a detailed Key Account Customer folder for each key account
  • substituting for colleagues in the wider DACH team and any other duties required to assist in supporting the achievement of company objectives

Required profile:

Ideally, but not a requirement, candidates for the Key Account Manager role will preferably have some additional commercial or technical training / degree. In addition, candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • relevant professional experience in key account management, mainly with B2B and B2C customers, preferably from within the retail channel
  • analytical thinking, with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • fluent in German and English across all levels
  • distinct customer and service orientation
  • a good working knowledge of MS Office and ERP applications
In addition, for this Key Account Manager role, candidates should also have:
  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
  • the ability to work effectively within a team and also under their own initiative
Candidates for the Key Account Manager role should note there will be travel within the DACH region with this role.
