As a Supply Specialist, you will play two key roles in our company in this demanding job.

On the one hand, as a business partner and interface to our business units, you are the representative of the centrally managed operating unit responsible for the entire product life cycle. In this role, you will work closely with the product managers to identify early market trends and derive the right measures from them. You coordinate the cooperation with strategic purchasing, materials management, and order fulfillment in order to continuously improve the costs in the life cycle of a product.

On the other hand, you are the classic first-time buyer in a very exciting high-tech environment. You manage the initial purchase of new products in the VAT network - Switzerland, Malaysia and Romania. The focus is on cost structure/ basis of new products in accordance with our product development process. This includes obtaining offers, benchmarks, the calculation of parts and assembly as well as the creation of the supply chain concept in collaboration with the category managers. Your area of responsibility is the classic project business including procurement of functional samples and prototype parts until the completion of the prototype phase and the handover of serial procurement. You will serve as an operational interface to the development project team and category manager project innovation.

Support of the Product Line Supply Chain Teams in claim and corrective measures with suppliers.

 

Maintaining contact with stakeholders to consider their needs in your daily work. Active involvement in the further development of the Product Line Supply Chain Management in order to continuously identify potential for improvement.

 

MAIN ROLE AND ACTIVITIES

 

  • Creation of the supply concept in collaboration with the category managers and initial orders.
  • Supplier selection in collaboration with the category managers and business procurement manager for prototypes
  • Carrying out preliminary calculations and target cost determinations within the framework of the assigned development projects
  • Participation in the selection of potential manufacturing processes in the concept phase, taking the manufacturing location decision into account
  • Procurement of functional samples / prototypes / test equipment / assembly devices / test orders including delivery date tracking in accordance with defined specifications (e.g. test certificate...), from the evaluation of offers to the ordering process.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure competitiveness and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues related to delivery timeliness, quality, or reliability.
  • Cooperation with Product Line Supply Chain Leaders and Order Material Managers to determine and ensure supply needs.
  • Core member of the product development team, serving as a supply chain specialist.
  • Requirements and tender planning for the respective projects (offering / RFQ)
  • Check of offers and order confirmations.
  • FAI orders (EMP) incl. technical approval
  • Creation and maintenance of master data (prototype to series) and operational plans
  • Responsibility for variance orders (AWA Process)
  • Communication, coordination, and negotiation with existing and future suppliers involved in the project.
  • Support in forecasting for planning future orders.
  • Continuous data maintenance in applied ERP systems (article and other master data, etc.)

 

KEY EXPERIENCES - What experiences bring success to this position?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management with engineering background.
  • Extensive background in machining and surface finish processes, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of materials management, operational and/or project purchasing in a cyclical industry such as semiconductor technology or similar.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a project manager.
  • Good ERP/MRP skills (MS Dynamics 365, SAP, PSS etc.)
