Business Support Specialist (100%)

Reporting to the Business Support Team Leader, you are the first line of contact for customers placing an order. You take charge and find resolution, and proactively support customers and the field sales team as the owner of all internal processes along the sales cycle. This includes generating quotes and receiving and executing purchase orders, resolving order-related issues, handling internal and external customer inquiries, expediting shipments, communication with customers and sales representatives, and following up with invoicing. Business Support Specialist serves as a liaison with all parties to enable sales growth.

Starting date: as soon as possible. Place of work: Schlieren, Switzerland.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Processing, via computer, all customer requests, utilizing multiple and often complex systems, programs, and monitors in order to research information
  • Execution of received purchase orders, including confirmations, processing through ERP, lot assignment and following up on production schedules in alignment with operations and production planning
  • Generation of quotations, related sales documents, and invoices
  • Coordination of shipping orders and order status with customers, Logistics, Export and Finance
  • Support the further implementation and improvement of the ERP system, recommendations on areas for process improvement
  • Support master data management activities
  • Provide high-level, high-quality service, closely aligned with sales
  • General administrative support, e.g., phone service for main phone number

 

Profile:

  • Confident decision maker
  • Customer-focused personality with at least 2 years of experience in a client-related role (order entry, customer support, lead qualification)
  • Experience in owning, executing, and improving operational sales processes
  • Experience with common ERP and CRM systems (e.g., ideally MS Dynamics) is a must, preferably in the Life Sciences industry
  • Familiarity with other sales processes (sales cycles, funnel management, quotation tools, contracts, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge in export, proficient knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication skills and service orientation, team player
  • Preferably able to work late afternoons to support US business
  • English and German are a must, additional languages are a plus
