Our extensive portfolio includes key Skin Care ingredients such as natural bio actives and peptides, as well as vitamins, UV filters and technical and performance ingredients like e.g. polymers. We complement this portfolio with our unique range of services including formulation expertise, quality assurance and regulatory support. The Position
As Account Manager Personal Care you will manage and develop a portfolio of strategic customers and distributors in your territory to reach agreed sales and profitability targets.
In this role, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager, Regional Marketing and Technical Specialists who will support you in implementing customer action plans.

This position will preferably be based in Kaiseraugst, near Basel in Switzerland, but is potentially also open as home based in Germany, France, Benelux, or the UK. Expected travel is approximatively 20-40% once current guidelines allow. In this position, you will assume the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow business within our customer and distributor portfolio
  • Attract new business and defend existing business, identifying and creating opportunities
  • Drive projects effectively to accelerate conversion into sales both with existing and new product portfolio.
  • Roll out global/regional strategy promoting new products and concepts
  • Monitor the territory’s market potential, market shares and effectively position our company’s value proposition to capture new or existing product growth opportunities
  • Obtain in-depth knowledge about customers and competitors and share it within DSM Personal Care
  • Build prime multifunctional relationships with key decision makers at customers
  • Closely collaborate with Regional Marketing, Regional Commercial Management, Customer Care and Global PCA Headquarter

The Ideal

  • Bachelor degree with relevant experience or Master’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a sales function ideally in Cosmetic industry
  • Sound understanding of the cosmetics industry and markets and its products and/or applications. A good balance between commercial and technical knowledge is essential
  • Product expertise in UV protection, active ingredients and functional ingredients for Personal Care is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, presentation and selling skills and sensitivity for different approaches depending on client needs, cross-cultural sensitivity is needed
  • Strong for networking with internal and external stakeholders, building lasting relationships
  • Customer centricity, identifying growth opportunities and keeping promises made
  • Proven project management skills
  • Fluent in English and French
