You and your newly assembled team of firmware engineers will take responsibility for challenging firmware issues and drive the design of reliable storage solutions. You will work in an international environment among a great team of engineers and experts from various fields (non-volatile memory, firmware architecture, hardware design, system validation, and software services).

Your Tasks:

• Establish and lead a team of firmware developers


• Steering third parties and intensive cooperation with external partners (mainly US and TW)


• Contribute to the design, architecture, programming, review and improvement of our NAND flash memory embedded controller software and new features


• Specialize in the field of Non-Volataile Memory area of next generation technologies and technics


• Colaborate closely with our System Test Engineering for a comprehensive firmware verification and validation


• Support the stabilization phase of firmware releases
  

 

Your Profile:

• Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Eng. or similar (BSC, MSC, PhD)


• Familiarity with microprocessors, embedded system architecture, compiler and embedded software development tools (ARC or GNU toolchain, Synopsys, RISC, or similar)


• Experience and pleasure in building and leading a team (international is a plus)


• Strong analytical & abstract thinking capability as well as technical communication skills


• Proficiency in C language development and coding


• Job experience in the area of embedded firmware development and/or architectural design


• Willingness to travel regularly according to projects (Central Europe / USA / Taiwan)


• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages like Chinesisch/Mandarin is a plus) 


• Experience in code review, adoption and further development of a code base is a plus


• Familiar with storage device interfaces or protocols (such as PCIe/NVMe, eMMC, USB, SD, SATA, ATA, NAND, UFS etc.) is a plus


• Experience in NAND flash or memory related products will ease your job


• Knowledge of Linux kernel internals in the block device and file system areas is a plus
