The McDonald's Switzerland IT Operations Team is responsible for the deployment and operation of restaurant and corporate technology within Switzerland. The team supports many different technologies over the estate not limited to digital experiences, point-of-sale devices and software and high availability server models.

 

We are looking for a new colleague with a passion for operating technology, who will partner with internal IT stakeholders and other functional leads as well as our wider restaurant and operator community. As Technology Consultant, you will join the Technology Operations team, which manages the support services and processes for our Restaurants and Corporate employees.

Your Profil

  • 3+ years of proven experience in a comparable role within enterprise grade IT environments
  • Capable analysis skills with ability to provide a "big-picture" view and grasping ground level details as necessary
  • Good communication skills with external, internal stakeholders as well with partners and vendors
  • Flexibility to work within a rapidly changing environment
  • Significant planning & organizational skills to manage complex quantities of interacting technologies
  • Ability to diagnose and triage complicated technical issues
  • English (Written and Verbal), French or German (Written and Verbal), Optionally Italian (Written and Verbal)
  • Excellent understanding of the interdependencies between network, infrastructure and security

 

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards for enterprise IT operations
    • Understanding of network fundamentals (dns, dhcp, routing, subnetting, vlan)
    • Understanding of firewall fundamentals (Zoning, rules, groups, etc..)
    • Understanding of active directory fundamentals (all objects, gpo, security)
    • Comfortable with hardware management, network, end user computing, peripherals (without needing to be an expert)

  • Specific IT Technologies
    • Monitoring 
    • Observability Systems
    • Experience working in DevOps methodology preferable 

  • Operating Systems
    • Windows Server 2012 and onwards 
    • Windows 10 LTSB 
    • Windows 10 and 11
    • Linux and MacOS based OS a plus (+++)

  • Good understanding of Security by design
    • Firewall rules
    • Antivirus and endpoint protection
    • Quick evaluation in the event of incidents
    • Ability to escalate accordingly and act with the right level of attention

Area of Responsability

  • Support and develop our external partners to deliver clear and performant services to our Corporate Employees and our Restaurants
  • Take ownership of support for Corporate employees and develop the corporate service desk experience to a top-class experience. Develop self-service support and lead on the documentation of existing and new processes
  • Help deliver on security related matters, including overseeing patching activities for the market, managing vulnerabilities and treating security-related incidents
  • Create and maintain Operational standards for internal and external processes
  • Work with our global teams on the activities related to the management of local and cloud-based servers
  • Act as the main point of contact within the team for support requests related to Network & Infrastructure
  • Monitor the operational execution (reliability, performance) of technologies and ensure appropriate response
  • Translate key IT messaging for consumption by wider stakeholder groups
  • Respond to, and ensure processes exist to manage and handle scenarios of critical business impact
  • Perform risk management exercises and develop appropriate processes & responses
  • Technical investigation into root causes and building strategical next steps
  • Prompt support to restaurant operations in cases of major incidents or crisis
  • Comfortable with best practices in Service Management (understands the concepts of incidents, problem management, escalations)
