Swiss Corporate Tax and VAT Specialist

Do you have a keen interest and demonstrable experience in corporate tax with an emphasis on VAT compliance obligations, with expertise in the financial industry? If yes, then you have found the right role.

As a Swiss Corporate Tax and VAT specialist in Tax team, you will be assisting the local tax manager to ensure JPMorgan complies with its Swiss VAT and corporate tax compliance obligations.

Job responsibilities


  • Prepares/reviews Quarterly/Annual VAT returns. In collaboration with the EMEA Corporate Tax VAT team based in London, VAT advisory for internal stakeholders (with or without the assistance of external tax providers) in relation to clients’ onboarding, banking products and intercompany services amongst others

  • Prepares/reviews Corporate tax returns and Tax liabilities payments’ instructions to the local finance teams

  • Answers Federal/cantonal tax authorities’ requests for information and managing audits

  • Assists with monthly corporate tax accounting and liaising with the US Tax team in relation to quarterly reporting packs, foreign tax credits and forecast of taxable profits

  • Assists with annual tax provisions and tax notes in the statutory financial statements

  • Liaises with the external auditors regarding tax related queries and works closely with tax colleagues in London and elsewhere on VAT technical and advisory issues

  • Assists with analysis of the Swiss tax implications in relation to group reorganizations, acquisitions and disposals

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • A qualified professional with strong knowledge – and demonstrable experience – of Swiss VAT matters and quarterly/annual VAT compliance

  • Good knowledge of Swiss corporate tax matters

  • Tax accounting skills

  • A strong team player, who is reliable, independent and able to prioritise and work to demanding deadlines

  • An individual who appreciates working in a multicultural and dynamic environment

  • An individual focused on operating within and enhancing the existing tax risk and control framework

  • Fluency in English and French with excellent writing and speaking skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 


  • Expertise in the financial industry

  • Fluency in German and any other language is a plus
