Bioinformatician (Data Science and Software Development)

The STRING database is a world-leading life science data resource in the field of protein networks, integrating known and predicted protein-protein links for a quickly growing user community. STRING is being developed by an international team at the following three locations: EMBL (Heidelberg), University of Zurich / SIB, and University of Copenhagen.

The Zurich team (headed by Prof. Christian von Mering) is currently looking for a Bioinformatician to use their excellent Data Science and Software Development skills to help grow and further professionalize STRING. The person will lead the development of new methods and software tools in the field of proteomics and systems biology, including identification and integration of new data sources, and will keep abreast of the latest scientific developments in the field.
