In Switzerland, we are looking for an R&D Design Engineer to reinforce our team in Satigny, Geneva.

As part of an R&D team devoted to the Development and Maintenance of Sécheron’s Contactors products, the researched profile will carry out concept and feasibility studies, design of prototypes, development tests and validation of sub-components and finished products and systems as well. Maintenance of the existing products range (Root Cause analysis, Non-Conformities Elimination, execution and follow-up of Continuous Improvement action until finalization) will as well be part of the working scope.

For this position, you'd have:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a designer in the mechanical or electromechanical sector. Design experience concerning high voltage or high current mechanical switching devices is a significant plus.
  • Experience within medium-scale manufacturing environments, in particular concerning assembling devices and routine validation processes.
  • 3D modelling and 2D drafting, knowledge of Solidworks is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing/design of plastic parts, metal CNC parts, and metal sheet parts.
  • Management of technical documentation through the PLM system.
  • Previous exposition to ISO9001, root cause analysis, and NC treatment constitute a plus.
  • Good DIY skills when it comes to realisation, assembling and testing prototypes.
  • Fluency in English and French would be essential, but if you only speak English and are willing to learn French you can be considered. Any other European languages like German or Spanish would be an advantage.
