Your mission

In the board of directors and as head of the IT team you will have the overall responsibility for IT and technology strategy. In this position you will ensure that we have a stable, scalable, user friendly and secure infrastructure as well as a smooth product development process. As our implementation partner you will make sure that our product development requirements can be efficiently realised by our employees and our internal and external suppliers. You will contribute to the SRG SSR Technology and IT-strategy and steer the implementation for SWI swissinfo.ch

  • Develop and implement a technology roadmap that aligns with the strategic goals of SWI swissinfo.ch and of the SRG SSR
  • Drive our digital transformation: work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges
  • Follow trends and developments in the areas of web and app development and operation, innovative technologies and artificial intelligence and evaluate their added value and relevance for our business
  • Drive innovation, propose and contribute to valuable improvements
  • Be a decisive partner in transformation: foresee and implement change in our production and publication process by introducing fresh solutions
  • Take on responsibility for data protection and IT Security and guarantee consistent and smooth operation
  • Support and mentor team members
  • Monitor KPIs and IT budget to evaluate technological performance
  • Participate in national strategic committees (IT and Operations) and their project boards in the SRG SSR
  • Develop and use your networks inside and outside the SRG SSR (on a national and international level)

Your profile

  • Broad knowledge and enthusiasm for the media industry and working in an editorial environment
  • Expertise of web technologies and platforms and knowledge of the technical challenges of publishing online products
  • Proven experience in IT Management (managing an IT department, architecture, security, workplace)
  • Knowledge of how to combine the "new" IT world with "classical" IT and how to leverage their common elements
  • Managerial skills with experience in change management and digital transformation
  • Ability to switch between strategic and operational levels and take a hands-on approach
  • Your professional experience means you can build bridges between IT team members and online journalists
  • You are passionate about users and have a strong sense of empathy, enabling you to interpret and understand their needs in a multicultural environment
  • You know how data fuels innovation and business value
  • Fluency in English and an additional national language. French or German is essential
  • You are a creative team player, and know how to inspire others while helping to get the job done
  • You are curious and eager to improve yourself and keep learning
