About the role

The Senior Analyst, Corporate Controlling & Accounting role is part of the Corporate Controlling Team and looks after a number of Corporate entities for controlling, accounting and tax aspects. This role will be responsible for the preparation of the Monthly and Quarterly management reporting, EBIT and Cash Flow forecasting, Annual Operating Plan (Budget), preparation of Financial Statements of the Swiss legal entity in accordance with Swiss Code of Obligations, Swiss Tax Filings and Compliance, and various ad hoc tasks and projects to support the Corporate Controlling Team’s annual objectives. Involves close collaboration with other Corporate finance functions (Treasury, Tax, Corporate Planning & Analysis, External Reporting teams)..

Key Job Accountabilities

The role reports to Senior Manager, Corporate Finance and is part of the wider Management Reporting (Group Controlling Planning & Analysis) organization. Primary focus will be management reporting, planning and analysis activities, cost controlling and decision making support, while ensuring that US GAAP and Swiss statutory/ accounting requirements are fully met. The role will be based in Zurich and is a full time permanent position.

Financial Reporting in line with Swiss Code of Obligations and Swiss tax compliance

  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements (Swiss code of obligations) of a major Swiss legal entity
  • Leading external audit of statutory accounts, working closely with external auditors and business groups, presenting financials to the management
  • Preparation of Swiss Tax Filings and Compliance, income and VAT, supporting tax audits
  • Close collaboration with consultants, tax teams and various business groups

Accounting, Reporting & Controlling

  • Drive monthly and quarterly closings / management reporting of some of the significant legal entities (e.g. Pension entities, Holding companies, main Swiss entity, Share Trust, etc.)
  • Support the overall Global corporate results consolidation, which includes review and challenging of other regions results
  • Monthly analysis of actual vs budget, and preparation of the forecast
  • Cash flow reporting, monthly cash flow actuals review and forecast consolidation
  • Handling top side adjustments in the Corporate adjustment entity
  • Responsible for the Annual Budget coordination, consolidation and support
  • Preparation/ review tax and cash flow statutory reporting packages (SRPs) for entities in scope
  • Balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
  • SOX Compliance and internal controls monitoring

Business Partnering And Reporting

  • Coordinate and consolidate monthly cost center reporting, including accruals processes and Outperformance reporting
  • Co-ordinate annual cost center budget process and budget submissions
  • Finance business partner for selected corporate cost centers, supporting to understand and identify risks, opportunities and actions to lead / influence senior stakeholders to deliver in line or outperform against agreed budgets
  • Co-owner of the HQ accounting including booking of significant transactions, accruals, allocations, and cross charges

Ad hoc Projcets

  • Lead and initiate ad hoc special projects related to the area of responsibilities (e.g. optimization of monthly management reporting, cost center cost tracking)
  • Support and contribute in step plans related to significant transactions (Tax restructuring, M&A, etc.)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • At least 5 years of working experience in finance, with proven involvement in accounting and reporting, ideally with experience in a similar role or large Multinational companies.
  • Bachelor and master degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred
  • Experience in Consolidation and FP&A
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or Swiss code of obligations
  • Swiss income taxes experience or willingness to learn
  • HFM experience strongly preferred / SAP FI/CO an advantage
  • Very strong Excel / VBA / SQL knowledge
  • Strong ability to manage ambiguity, and proven problem-solving capabilities
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
