Job Description

lastminute.com is looking for a Network Engineer for his Applications Engineering & Services Team team based in Chiasso. We are looking for dynamic & experienced network professional to work on implementation, security and support of large multi-site network environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining new network solutions (HW, SW and VPN)
  • Improving the efficiency and security of the current network based on best industry practices.
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, firewalls, ...
  • Monitoring network performance.
  • Implementing a continuous improvement process defining, documenting and enforcing the system standards.
  • Managing incidents and problems finding root causes and implementing remediation actions.
  • Being able to coordinate external resources.

Qualifications

Technical skill and experience

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer with expertise in Fortinet and Cisco Meraki technologies.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of static and dynamic routing, switching, Fortinet devices and software (e.g., Fortianalyzer, Fortimanager, Fortiauthenticator, etc.), and Cisco devices and software.
  • Experience with VPNs and firewalls, particularly Fortigate.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic, analysis, and monitoring tools such as Ekahau.
  • Experience in wiring techniques.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the role.

  • We have offices in 12 countries while headquartered in Switzerland and so we are looking for someone available for the support of the Chiasso office but available to make short and sporadic trips abroad (for network activities in our other company offices).
  • Network certifications are an added value (Fortinet NSE - Network Security Expert, Cisco CCNA, …).
