The Cargo Border Management (CBM) team comprises of SME’s dedicated to the safe, secure and efficient flow of cargo across borders, with a particular focus on customs and aviation security procedures, including security requirements and trade facilitation topics. The objective of this team is to work with International Organizations (e.g. WCO, ICAO, UNCTAD, WTO), national Customs and AVSEC regulators to co-develop standards, regulations and guidance that support compliance and smart, efficient and sustainable borders that benefit airline members.
Reporting to the Head of Cargo Border Management, OSS, the Senior Manager Cargo Security will be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of the cargo security and trade facilitation processes and standards to further strengthen and facilitate the air cargo supply chain.
The Senior Manager Cargo Security will lead the IATA Cargo Security Working Group activities, ensuring their alignment with the priorities set by the IATA Cargo Border Management Board. In order to support the cargo border management security & trade facilitation agenda, the Senior Manager Cargo Security will represent IATA Members’ interests and views at international organizations, regional and national regulators’ meetings, and other fora such as the ICAO and WTO, with the responsibility to identify potential impacts to the industry in relation with air cargo security and trade facilitation and to lobby for action to address such impacts.
The Senior Manager Cargo Security will ensure that cargo security related manuals and training are up to date and promote adoption of the IATA cargo border management & security standards globally. The Senior Manager will also actively participate in the development and maintenance of cargo security standards in all relevant IATA publication and programs.
The Senior Manager Cargo Security will be in charge of coordinating with IATA Operations, Safety & Security Products and IATA Training on the development of commercial products and services related to cargo border management topics such as training, publications, events and strategic partnership program.
