To complete our creative and dynamic team in Lausanne, we are seeking a:

Your role:

As a Buyer, you will be part of the Operations team and will be reporting to the Head of Supply Chain. 

This position has two main dimensions: the first one, is tactical and consists in ensuring continuity of Supply for Pre-Productions and Mass-Productions with materials / CAPEX toolings delivered on time, on quality and at the right cost; the second one consists in determining and implementing strategies, sourcing vendors, mitigating risks, negotiating and closing contracts, record keeping and focusing on value for the business.

You will be collaborating cross-functionally within the Operations department (Quality, Manufacturing, Stocks) as well as with other departments: Engineering, Legal, Finance.

What you will own:

Procurement Planning:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and develop procurement plans
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and product specifications to identify potential suppliers and sources of supply

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, select and terminate suppliers based on the value of the collaboration: quality, cost, reliability, competitive advantage and more generally support of Flyability’s needs
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
  • Lead resourcing projects with cross-functional teams from initiation to closure

Purchase Order Processing:

  • Generate and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures, through our ERP Odoo
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services by monitoring order status and communicating with suppliers as needed
  • Coordinate with internal departments to confirm receipt of goods and resolve any discrepancies or issues with orders
  • Design our reordering and procurement system for all SKUs including but not limited to Kanban, forecasts, blanket orders, scheduled deliveries all in line with the supply strategy

Cost Control, Budgeting and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze procurement costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses
  • Track and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance with budgets and contracts
  • Define, maintain and document the supply strategy by vendor and commodities

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier relationships, supply chain disruptions, and other factors that may impact procurement operations

Your profile:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, preferable in Engineering or Commerce. A Master’s degree is an asset
  • 5+ years of work experience as a Supply professional in a manufacturing environment with focus on Direct Materials and Subcontracting. Experience in indirect purchase is a plus
  • English proficiency, French is an asset
  • Any relevant professional certifications are an asset
  • Proficient in analytical skills and experienced with ERP systems
  • Proactivity, adaptability and flexibility in response to changing market conditions, supplier capabilities, and business needs
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Responsible, precise, and rigorous with a structured working style
  • Cross-functional team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving ability, resilience
