Change Lead (Part-Time, Job-Share, Full-Time)

Location: We’re flexible! You can be based from any of our UK offices.

Closing date for applications: 6th May 2024

The opportunity:

As the Change Lead, you’ll be responsible for the project support and operational management of small distinct local Retail projects, sub-projects or phases of a larger project and ensures that the overall project objectives are clearly defined and met.

The projects from a total cost perspective are typically below GBP 1 million and are characterised by low complexity, batch change, simple change and communications elements and moderate business impact.

You’ll understand and can apply different delivery approaches (i.e; Waterfall and Scrum) and perform, with appropriate support, project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control.

Many of our employees work flexibly, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

  • Comply with requirements to meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Balance the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk to produce the specified product, service, or result.
  • Ensure change readiness of associated business area, with appropriate impact assessments completed and subsequent risks and issues managed.
  • Support the sponsor/Head of/MFU Lead in the setup of the project to ensure the business case is clearly defined (including estimates of required resources and funds) and relevant stakeholders are engaged as part of evaluating the preferred product solution.
  • Make choices about resource allocation, make trade-offs among competing objectives and alternatives, and manage the interdependencies among the project management areas to ensure project success.
  • Develop a detailed project plan at the task level based on the agreed business case, and manage and control project delivery by baseline parameters and standards (time, cost, quality) to drive project success.
  • Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project to increase the likelihood and impact of positive events and decrease the likelihood and impact of negative events in the project.
  • If necessary, purchase or acquire products, services, or results needed from outside the project team to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Identify the people, groups, or organizations that could impact or be impacted by the project. Understand and analyse their needs and expectations and their impact on the project, address issues as they occur, manage conflicting interests and develop appropriate management strategies for effectively engaging stakeholders in project decisions and execution.

What are we looking for?

Chances are you have just started training in a project or operational management role or have a couple of years of experience gained with small-scale projects. However, what matters is that you’re eager to learn and are highly motivated with a drive and ability to succeed at any given task. You’re at the stage of your career where you’re resilient and positive so if things don’t always go to plan, it won’t phase you!

You organise like a pro, with a natural drive to analyse current practices and to plan and track projects. An absolute devil for the detail, you can brief others and balance priorities in a fluid, fast-paced environment. You know how to work to smash incredibly tight deadlines and apply sharp attention to process, detail, and quality. Finally, you’re a real team player that has excellent problem-solving skills.

By your very nature, you have fantastic communication skills, and you have got a history of building great business relationships.
