Our market strategies within Group Investment Management is looking for a credit strategist in structured/collateralised markets.

For this role a specialised technical know-how of these markets is required, which have an impact on the broader macro economy as well as credit and broader financial markets.

What you will do

• Use problem solving skills and lateral thinking, along with own specialist know-how to analyse complex collateralised credit sectors to identify investment opportunities, risks and strategies. 
• Use specialist know-how to conduct proprietary analysis of the information from various news sources and sell-side research, sales and trading contacts. Maintain and build good relationships with the sell-side investment community.
• Use problem solving skills to conceptually aid in the building of sophisticated quantitative pricing models to analyse these complex securities in different market scenarios.
• Use lateral thinking to identify impact of developments in these markets to the broader markets and the economy.
• Use knowledge of credit markets to derive linkages and impacts on the broader economy and financial markets.
• Present and defend views to the top decision-makers in the group and be accountable for the performance of these views.

What you bring

• Around 10 years of experience on the sell side in research, trading or sales or on the buy side asset managers or hedge funds in roles dealing with collateralised credit investments.
• At least a Master's degree or a Ph.D. in Business, Science, Engineering, Economics or Finance is sought, although exceptional candidates with Bachelor's degrees will also be considered.
• Highly specialised know-how from experience in securitized credit markets is a key requirement, with a thorough understanding of the market drivers. 
• An ability to think laterally and apply problem solving skills to conceptualise and use quantitative models to conduct proprietary analysis is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as good presentation skills.
• Knowledge of financial market information tools such as Bloomberg as well as Microsoft office software.
