Global Communications Manager - BU Transformers (f/m/d)


For our Transformers Business Unit we are looking for Global Communications Manager (f/m/d) to join our international team.

Description:

The global communications role is responsible for contributing significantly to driving profitable growth at Hitachi Energy’s Transformer Business through communication activities.

Support, plan and ensure implementation of internal and external communication initiatives by providing strategic guidance, in line with the Business Unit and Group Corporate Communications strategy, corporate identity and brand positioning.

Responsible for the communication plan, ensure executional excellence in all communications measures for the global business, supporting business management.

Your responsibilities

Lead internal and external communications activities for the Business unit, driving the development of a coherent communications strategy and brand positioning.

Develop the BU internal and external communications plan, programs and messages, coordinated with corporate functions and global teams. Drive Budget discussion for the communications plan.

Build relationships with key stakeholders including customers, senior management, employees, media and interest groups keeping them informed about the business’s key messages and news.

Support the business unit management and functions with business messaging and positioning, and timely key communications.

Develop communications material for the business head and senior management team, such as presentations, speeches, articles, and employee recognition (thought leadership).

Provide guidance and support communications efforts, especially messaging and branding in global and key events.

Drive the communications activities in coordination with the business, regional and corporate stakeholders by executing the communication plan in line with brand positioning and corporate identity and design guidelines.

External communications:

  • Media and content:
    • Press releases, trade media stories, blogs, web stories.
    • Editorial plan, success stories, engagement with regional teams, customer testimonials, thought leadership, inaugurations, celebrations.
    • Engaging with corporate communications and media relation teams to align and contribute to the media strategy, editorial content, media reports.
    • Engage with media relations team to develop media relations strategy and plans, media relations work for general press, in conjunction with Regional and Country communication teams.
  • Social media initiatives, web page, presentation material.

Internal communication:

  • Support global business needs, coordinate with cooperate with corporate regional and corporate communication teams:
    • Townhalls.
    • Organizational announcements.
    • Purpose, employee engagement, employee branding.
    • Employee engagement.
    • Internal webpage.
    • Branding.
  • Manage internal and external websites and (non campaign/promotion related) social media initiatives.
  • Support the MarCom Specialist to develop a library of photos and film shoots, image bank, graphics and product documentation
  • Ensure BU content, such as multimedia, digital tools, videos, presentations, infographics, brochures, posters, etc. is available, on brand and updated

Follow up on the effectiveness of communications activities, Regularly providing updates on the progress. Reviews and analyzes performance against standards and prepares improvement plans.

Maintains and encourages a positive and integrated network in internal and external communication communities to promote knowledge of current practices and innovation. Drives and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.

Your background:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Design, Business or equivalent professional experience.

  • A minimum of 5+ years communications experience in a global company, business to business, energy sector.

  • Excellent cross functional communication skills and experience (i.e internal, external, media, digital, marketing communications).

  • Ability to create compelling content in different forms including written, graphic, digital, social media. This includes strong editorial skills to take raw materials and turn them into audience focused content, human centric storytelling and content, distilling down complex ideas into customer-friendly language.

  • Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills with top-notch attention to detail and the ability to move projects forward independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability and experience in driving alignment functions and teams for collaboration

  • Strong relationship management skills with internal and external partners at all levels.

  • Passion for innovation and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

  • Fluent English, written & spoken.

  • Digitally proficient in communications tools.

  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.

  • Willingness to travel on business assignments.
