Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is looking for a Global Business Excellence Senior Specialist

Primary Job Function:

• Provides strategic input to global BEx initiatives across Operations.




• Provides direction and hands-on support to the Business Excellence resources across EPD on the design and implementation of improvements at regions and sites.




• Manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.




• Conducts and coordinates analyses to support decision making at the managerial level.




• Supports achieving EPD growth and margin targets by contributing to the definition and executing the Business Excellence strategy.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Provides inputs to strategic, global business excellence strategies and initiatives across operations




• Provides direction and hands-on support to the Regional & local Business Excellence resources across EPD on the design and implementation of improvements




• Designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing large-scale and complex projects from start to finish, on time and within budget.




• Develops the project plan, launch the initiative with minimal support, assures all aspect of the projects are foreseen, anticipates potential operational problems and acts to resolves them.




• Identifies, develops, gathers, trains and motivates the resources to complete the project




• Coordinates cross-functional teams within a matrix structure, to accomplish critical business goals.




• Monitors progress and performance against timelines and provide regular updates to stakeholders.




• This may include preparing designs and work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts, and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.

Position Accountability/Scope:

• Provides strategic input to global BEx initiatives across Operations, and implements them through advanced project management techniques




• At any given time, the Global BEx Sr Specialist can work with any affiliate or business partner to assure projects are finished on time and within budget.




• The position acts as the key interface to all stakeholders, chairs project teams, coordinates internal and external resources (including consultants) provides clear roles and responsibilities for all team members and takes all necessary actions to ensure on time execution of all tasks assigned to team members.

Minimum Education:

Mathematical, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Operations, Engineer Degree (Bachelor), or comparable education.

Minimum Experience:

• Very good English skills (oral and writing)




• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Operations




• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex organizations and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders




• Ability to interpret division strategy and develop programs and projects in support of that strategy which address challenges holistically




• Ability to independently structure and analyze complex situations, ability to understand and go beyond data to draw conclusions




• Root cause problem solving and ability to learn and improve business processes




• Proven communication skills including presentation skills to DVP level
