The Diagnostic Partnering Strategy and Transactions EU Chapter, located in Basel & Rotkreuz, is an integral component of the Global Partnering organization, which is a collaborative team of self-motivated professionals that passionately identifies brilliant ideas, novel opportunities and compelling business concepts to generate objective and long-term business value to sustain the leadership of the Diagnostics Division. The Strategy and Transactions Chapter is specifically responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing new business partnership and transaction agreements (across the entire range of transaction types incl Licensing, R&D-, Commercial Collaboration. Ecosystem agreements) with the external partner - in collaboration with all other team/squad members and internal stakeholders. On M&A (Acquisitions), we are working in a team together with a Project Leader from Group Business Development.

This internship position is located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Join teams/ squads and support with company, market and competitive research for potential strategic partnerships, alliances and/ or M&A transactions

  • Prepare company profiles for senior leadership

  • Provide support to chapter members and chapter lead in project tracking, support various departmental wide projects such as record management, process and database setup as well as to build and administer central repository for deals in that chapter

  • Deliver various deal support, such as deal updates, summaries and reports, management of due diligence, financial models, building and tracking of our proactive partnering watch list

Who You Are

You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of life science or related field, e.g. Microbiology, Chemistry, Medicine, Computer science or Engineering within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship.

Furthermore you are

  • You have solid good knowledge of Finance, Business Administration, and Business ideally through either a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, undergraduate or postgraduate courses, or relevant previous experience (e.g. internship in a consulting firm, bank or a corporate’s finance department). Current enrollment in an MBA program is an advantage.

  • Strong MS Office / G-suite skills in particular PowerPoint/g-Slides and Excel / g-Sheets

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Hands-on, fast and highly results driven you focus on getting things done and put a lot of effort into driving projects to completion

  • Knowledge of and interest in In-Vitro-Diagnostics preferred

  • Well-organized and self-disciplined

  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus

Technical details:

The preferred start date for the internship is September 2024. Please state your preferred start date and the desired duration of the internship in your application.

Part-time employment is possible (at least 30 hours per week)

If required, it is possible to write a thesis during the internship.

The application deadline is April 30th.

Interviews will take place in the second and third week of May (between 13th and 23rd May).
