Deputy Chief Risk Officer - JPM Suisse

As the Deputy Chief Risk Officer (DCRO) for JP Morgan Suisse within Risk Management team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in the development and execution of the organization's risk management strategy. The DCRO assists in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various business functions and works closely with senior leadership to ensure effective risk governance and compliance.

Job responsibilities 


  • Risk Management Oversight:  Assist the CRO in developing and implementing the organization's risk management strategy, policies, and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and analyses to identify emerging risks and trends. Collaborate with Private Bank business to assess risk exposures and develop mitigation plans.

  • Policy Development and Compliance: Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. 

  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Support the monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs) and other metrics to track risk exposure and trends. Assist in preparing comprehensive risk reports for senior management and the Board of Directors. Analyze and communicate risk-related insights to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Private Bank business and control functions to foster a culture of risk awareness as well as accountability. Serve as a liaison between the risk management function and Private Bank business. Assist in providing risk-related training and education to employees at all levels. 

  • Crisis Management and Business Continuity: Support the development and maintenance of crisis management and business continuity plans. Assist in coordinating response efforts during crisis situations, including communication strategies and resource allocation. Participate in post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement and enhance preparedness.

  • People Management: Mentor and coach risk officers in the team. 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 


  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field 

  • Significant experience in the financial services industry

  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements,

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Advanced degree preferred

  • Experience within Swiss or European Private Banking industry or equivalent experience working in the Risk management role

  • Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CFA are a plus.

  • Ability to summarize complex topics concisely and drive practical outcomes
