In line with the company strategy, the Spa Category Manager (Salon & Fitness) is responsible for the Spa Category including Consumables, Retail, Equipment and Disposables for the Salon & Fitness areas onboard. They maximize the revenues and return on investment in stock in all our markets, and guarantees the best representation and service for this category.

Category / Assortment Strategies:

• Analyse and propose the product mix, brand portfolio, and assortment for each Spa category.

• Develop and maintain assortments that are tailored correctly to the shop profile of each ship class and to each canvas.

• Analyse consumers trends, market changes, competitor prices and products, and past sales patterns to forecast future demand.

• Propose pricing policies in line with the divisional strategy per canvas which deliver compelling price advantage and savings to our guests.

• Measure the performance of existing assortment and make adjustment accordingly to have continuous input of newness and commercial ranges adapted by canvas.

• Propose actions to improve operational performance and margins.

• Provide continuous update to management on the category performance, challenges, future opportunities, and action plan(s).

Optimize Performance:

• Evaluate current sell through trends and other components that will affect the business.

• Communicate effectively with the Spa Purchasing & Planning Specialists to ensure forecasts to ensure “in stock levels” of key items.

• Define performance outcome by producing monthly vendor targets by ship.

• Work in partnership with brands on creating and maintaining exclusive and branding opportunities to provide points of competitive differentiation.

• Work in partnership with the Spa Operations Manager to deliver improved ROI by effectively controlling the inventory management, identified aged and slow-moving stock and implementing obsolete stock markdown.

• Communicate effectively to the Spa Planning & Purchasing Specialists where stock levels are not in line with expectations and identify in partnership the corrective actions required.

• Design with suppliers: shop lay-out, merchandising plans, brand placements, and planograms.

• Communicate clearly to Spa Operations Manager & Fleet Supervisors/Trainers expected lay-outs to implement, revise and improve.

• Work in partnership with the Spa Operations Manager & Fleet Supervisors/Trainers to ensure that inventories are controlled and that areas of inventory loss are effectively controlled.

• Work to ensure that promotions are in line with marketing calendar control framework.

• Identify and create regionally adapted promotion opportunities with/without suppliers and agree yearly planning for each season/area.

• Negotiate, coordinate, and follow-up promotions and performance incentives with suppliers, and ensure these are communicated through to ships via marketing calendar.

• Support suppliers in organising promotional/marketing events; Align activities, targets and marketing events to be delivered through marketing calendar framework.

Administration:

• Create articles into the system using the correct data from supplier, and ensure that missing or incorrect data is actively corrected.

• Set prices on system.

• Provide sales reports to suppliers in line with agreed reporting process.

• Use the correct system tools and actively seeks to improve knowledge and capability of these tools.

• Ensure correct administration of all the data in the database.

• University Degree in Business Economics, Supply Chain, or Procurement.

• Fluent English. Any additional language is an advantage.

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Experience within the Spa / Salon or Fitness Industry.

• Experience within the cruise industry is advantageous.

• Excellent knowledge of Excel and most common Business Intelligence packages.
