PROCUREMENT BUYER PHARMA – DIRECT MATERIALS
Our client is an international biopharmaceutical company headquartered in the French speaking part of Switzerland with globally established and recognized products in the oncology therapeutic area.
In this role you will lead the local sourcing efforts for all Direct Raw Materials, Packaging Components & Device related activities. You will maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives, support the business with close partnership with the site management team, and engage closely with any appropriate sister sites within the network to ensure best value for individual site and network.
The Site Procurement Buyer must display excellent communication skills to all internal stakeholders, senior leadership and suppliers. Therefore sound language skills in French and English are mandatory, German is a plus.

Your Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Maintain continuity of current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) Direct material supply for manufacturing operations at the facility
- Manage suppliers and engage directly with site stakeholders as well as global teams
- Manage procure to pay transactions, enforce policies and internal controls, and provide support for end-users in addition to managing vendor relationships and interactions
- Work closely with internal stakeholders within the Business Units, Procurement, Supply Chain, Payables and other Finance/Admin functions to ensure a seamless “Source to pay business process”
- Drive delivery of cost savings including alternate/secondary sourcing of materials for cost savings/avoidance for all categories category
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning stakeholders to understand and analyse consumption of materials, monitor deliveries with suppliers for deliveries arriving close to need by dates and expedite as required.
- Responsible for Contract management, creation of legal documents and templates, supporting LOIs, SOWs and MSAs across the site and network
- Lead annual budget process for the site operations, working closely with category leaders, site finance, site supply chain, general management and GP finance with “right first time” standards.
- Manage accurate reporting of Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) for supplier performance and compliance to contracted terms.
- Daily contacts with General Managers, Materials Directors, Site Department Heads, Central Sourcing and Suppliers Frequent contact with Global Procurement Category Leaders and Supplier Diversity Leaders
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.
- > 5 years of work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning, CPM/CPIM/CPSM preferred
- Experienced in SAP Procurement module. Additional experience in Supply Chain, MRP Planning and Inventory modules strongly preferred
- Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry is highly preferred
- Strong negotiation skills using sound sourcing principles and a fact-based approach to communicate to multiple levels within the company and at suppliers
- Strong understanding of category specific business operational processes, procedures, workflows.
- Able to work with people in diversified environments (cultures, functions, unique reporting relationships).
- Understanding on the methodology, process and guidelines for conducting and implementing an efficient/effective indirect sourcing project
