Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. As a Local Product Group of High Voltage Products, the High Current Systems unit is responsible for the development, sales, manufacturing, and service of generator circuit-breaker systems and gas-insulated switchgear.

You'll be a key member of the Purchasing and Logistics team in Zürich Oerlikon. Reporting to the supply chain manager, you will aid the company as a whole by ensuring that all procurement activities comply with the policies and procedures of the company.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for defined material groups within the Service business unit to achieve cost savings, quality, and service level objectives

  • Lead the procurement process for defined material groups, including identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality, and compliance with contractual terms

  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify new sourcing opportunities and potential risks

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and project management to ensure procurement activities align with business requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

  • Ensure compliance with Hitachi Power Grids policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations

Your Background

  • Completed Technical Education

  • Further Training in Business Administration or Purchasing

  • More than three years of experience in the field of procurement, preferably in the energy or engineering industry

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Mastery of SAP and all office automation software (Office Suite)

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies

  • Fluent English and German (minimum B2)

  • Willing to Travel est. 15-20% (Europe)
