Product Designer at our HQ in Bern

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product Designer with a passion for finding solutions that allow customers to intuitively use our products. 
The ideal candidate will be skilled at each stage of the design process, always focused on the needs of the customer, but also understanding business requirements, user feedback, and usability findings. This role involves designing the aesthetics to be implemented on our business portal and its Apps, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. You will work with Product Managers and cross-functional team members and will rely heavily on both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions.

Your main tasks

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and developers, reporting to the COO
  • Lead the design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features
  • Design the aesthetics to be implemented on our business portal and its Apps
  • Perform UX research, including user interviews, to understand user needs, behaviours, and motivations. Translate user insights into actionable design solutions
  • Conduct competitive analysis
  • Understand business needs and ensure designs meet business objectives
  • Understand user needs and apply user research to create user-friendly designs
  • Work with the product management team to iterate on product designs
  • Create and maintain design wireframes, mock-ups, and specifications as needed
  • Test new ideas before implementing
  • Guide the creation of the product’s visual language and style guides
  • Lead or participate in design critiques and give constructive feedback
  • Continue to test the product post-launch and make decisions about necessary improvements or additions
  • Stay up to date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies. Use various design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, etc. 
  • Deliver internal and external presentations
  • Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
  • Mentor junior team members in UX/UI design principles and practices

Your ideal profile

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
  • You have a proven experience in all phases of the UX/UI design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
  • You have a good understanding of roaming business and want to use it to build user-friendly products. - You have an intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious
  • You have excellent attention to detail, being a quality-oriented personality
  • You can collaborate with cross-functional team members
  • You can collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
  • You can effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts
  • You have passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
  • You have a creative problem-solving skill
  • You are dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences
  • You have familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • You are proficient in design software (e.g., Sketch, Figma and Adobe XD) - You are open minded, ready to adapt to the changing needs
  • You are fluent in English; other languages are a plus
  • You are willing to work in Bern
  • The position is open to Swiss and EU nationals, and to holder of a valid Swiss work permit 

And as a plus: 
  • You have Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript or React
  • You are fluent in other languages
