Based at the company’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Head of Employee Engagement plays a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive work environment where employees feel informed, motivated, and connected to the company’s values.

Working in close partnership with Corporate HR teams (ashore and on board) the Head of Employee Engagement leads initiatives aimed at driving an overall global employee engagement agenda across the Cruise Division of MSC Group working across the two brands –MSC Cruises, and newly launched luxury brand Explora Journeys.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to join a privately-owned global organisation with nearly 30,000 employees on board and ashore and to make a real impact by helping foster a positive company culture as the company continues to grow and expand.

We are looking for a seasoned employee engagement leader with a proven track record of developing and implementing employee engagement/internal communications strategies and initiatives for a diverse global workforce. The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and programmes.

• Develop and implement employee engagement strategies aligned with the company’s culture, MSC values and the employer brand strategy.

• Lead the design and execution of programs and initiatives to support business objectives and ensure efficiency of the Employee Engagement function.

• Oversee the development, implementation and management of internal communication channels and effective information dissemination; this includes intranet, internal emails and newsletters, videos and more.

• In partnership with IT lead development and transition of the company’s intranet to a new technology platform.

• Partner with leaders and managers on key company initiatives, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Sustainability, Culture, to ensure employees are informed, motivated, and engaged.

• Support the Head of Diversity and Inclusion in bringing D&I strategy to life, and act as a champion for diversity, and inclusion initiatives within the organisation.

• Share best practices globally, partner with local teams to ensure consistency and implementation at the country level and onboard of every ship.

• In collaboration with the Corporate HR team enhance the employment brand awareness via corporate social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn).

• Work closely with other members of the global Communications team, both based at Headquarters and in local offices, Corporate HR team, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring employee engagement agenda to life across the company – ashore and on board.

• Manage a team of Employee Engagement Managers and Specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

• Analyze data and feedback to make informed recommendations and implement action plans to address employee needs and concerns.

• Develop and manage the Employee Engagement’s budget.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in employee engagement / internal communications, working in a multinational environment. Experience in a privately held global business is a strong plus.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organisation.

• Fluency in the English language, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Additionally, other European language skills are an advantage.

• Strong experience in writing, editing and proof-reading texts as well as multi-media content to achieve a required high-quality outcome and ensure brand compliance.

• Willing to travel to understand and work closely with teams located in other countries and onboard our fleet.

• Strong experience in change management is a benefit.

• Ability to drive change communications and build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders is a must.

• Flexible, able to take initiative in task execution and lead by influence, with an unshakeable can-do attitude.

• Direct experience in managing and developing a company internet.

• Technology-savvy and experienced in managing internal communication tools, platforms and channels.

• Experience in designing and producing high-quality material aligned with corporate brand guidelines.

• Exceptional project management skills.
