The Position

In Roche Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development Organization (pRED) we believe the rapid advances in science, technology, digital and big data are our greatest opportunity to rethink how we tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet health care needs and to have an even more profound impact on patients and society.

At pRED we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility and humility where our amazing people are empowered and inspired to bring forward amazing innovation at speed. Within pRED, the goal of the Institute of Human Biology (IHB) is to disrupt the traditional drug discovery process through innovative, big and bold ideas focused on advancing our ability to use more predictive human model systems.

As a member of the Organoid Phenotyping platform at IHB, you will collaborate with a team of scientists to design and implement computational pipelines for the purpose of analyzing high-content screening data. Your primary responsibility will be the creation of image analysis pipelines capable of processing terabytes of 3D imaging data using the high-performance computing infrastructure provided by Roche. In addition, you will be tasked with developing statistical pipelines to identify and cluster hits and ascertain the signaling pathways that impact the biological processes under investigation. The role also entails collaborating with a team of computer scientists to utilize tools developed at IHB for the processing of large image datasets. This presents a unique opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge computational tools, thereby enhancing your skills and knowledge. Furthermore, you will work closely with the team to discuss the objectives of the screen, develop pipelines, document code and results, and communicate your findings to both the IHB and the broader Roche community.
