Head Global SAP Basis (f/m/d)

Job Purpose

The Head Global SAP Basis is responsible for providing leadership and technical guidance to the SAP architects and engineers. He / She will heavily collaborate with cross-functional teams in charge of various SAP R/3 system landscapes, such as SAP ERP P11, SD/MM, FI/CO, PLM, HCM, BW, Fiori, etc. The Head Global SAP Basis reports into the Head Global Cloud and Data Center Services organization. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred. In addition, 10 or more years’ experience in designing and maintaining large and complex SAP landscapes in larger organizations is required. The position requires strong communications skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop a high-performance team to ensure a successful implementation and maintenance of the SAP Platform
• Partner with key stakeholders in various functions and business units to understand their technology needs and ensure that SAP platform suits and scales the business applications requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture for SAP and implementation experiences.
• Ensure reliability, security, and compliance of the SAP Hosting platform.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and external partners to ensure timely and effective support on the SAP platform operation activities and implementation projects.
• Taking accountability for service delivery performance, meeting customer expectations and driving future demand
• Ensure with End-to-End process management the best possible performance in quality, security, compliance, and costs.
• Set and align KPIs & SLAs assessing customer feedback, and building and improving procedures accordingly to ensure an excellent end-user experience.
• Manage the operations budget, including cost control, resource allocation, and financial planning to optimize D&T SAP Basis service delivery.
• Manage vendor and third-party service providers to ensure seamless service delivery, negotiate contracts, optimize, and drive vendor relationships to meet defined agreements.
• Manages the Project Portfolio and ensures Project Methodologies are used by the Data & Tech Teams.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and proactively identify potential roadblocks. Implement mitigation strategies and take corrective action to keep projects on track for successful delivery.
• Lead the project planning process, including scope definition, resource allocation, timeline development, and risk assessment. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure project objectives are clearly defined and aligned with business goals.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies on SAP cloud technologies and driving innovation across all business areas. This may include implementing new tools or technologies, upgrading existing systems, or exploring new solutions to generate business value.
• Develop and manage the budget for the SAP platform, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to meet business objectives.
• Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for SAP platform.
• Demonstrate SAP platform Knowledge of good industry practice in tiered security architecture design.
• Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts.
• Advocate and define SAP architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.

Profile:

Education

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or a relevant field
• Certifications in IT Service - (ITIL V4) and Project Management (Prince2, Scrum etc.)
• SAP Certifications such as ERP, NetWeaver, Architect, BTP, BW, etc.
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Well-developed communication and presentations skills.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a team leader orchestrating a global / international team.
• 10+ years of experience spanning at least two SAP Basis disciplines, including technical architecture and Hana database management and/or SAP platform operations.
• Experience with SAP on AWS Cloud
• Familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library - IT service delivery managers are familiar with the processes and tasks described in the ITIL, which is a manual for IT service management.
• Strong hands-on experience in managing Service Improvement Programs (SIP), Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA), etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to engage with and present to executive level, further languages a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment where a high degree of cross functional collaboration is required to deliver outstanding results
