Directs the planning, development, implementation, administration, and budgeting of most or all of the following human resource functions: compensation, benefits, employment, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, organizational development, HRIS, training, health and safety services programs and company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Advises company management in personnel policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions as consistent with strategic direction. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Working at NTT


They ensure the ongoing implementation of regional or local policies and the introduction of policies to ensure local or regional compliance. The HR Director collaborates with the Legal department to ensure legal compliance and relevance of employment contracts.

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

They are responsible for pipeline management and accurate people forecasting and resourcing in line with the strategic workforce planning model and processes. They ensure the deployment of regional or local recruitment processes and monitor compliance to these to ensure the acquisition of appropriate talent. They take responsibility for the optimal use of internal and direct recruitment methods. They ensure due diligence and manage change around all acquisitions.

Reward and Recognition

HR Directors work closely with the Remuneration team and train Managers on the process of remuneration governance in the business. They introduce the Total Reward concept to key managers in the business. They evaluate and review the implementation of the salary increase and bonus processes and make suggestions for improvement where applicable. They implement the various remuneration related processes, ensuring that all employees are aware of these processes. HR Directors drive the implementation of the Excellence Program and ensure that nominations and awards are adjudicated.

Learning and Development

The training and development of Managers on the NTT Ltd. leadership brand and ensuring implementation thereof is part of the responsibility in this role. They assist Managers with the career development process and ensure adherence to the process. HR Directors also ensure that employees reporting to them are engaged and understand their career opportunities, by taking responsibility for the training and development of their team members. They ensure that training and development strategies are in line with business objectives.

HR Metrics

In consultation with the HR organization and the business strategy, they develop and manage the human resources budget and apply for the relevant rebates in line with legislation. They compile monthly reports and HR metrics and discuss these with the Management team at monthly meetings. They co-ordinate the HR events calendar and ensure implementation thereof.

Employee Engagement

The HR Director is responsible for local employee engagement. They are responsible for the marketing of the NTT Ltd. employee value proposition, with employees and externally, to drive effective retention and change in their portfolio.

When required they drive the co-ordination and implementation of the employee satisfaction and best company to work for surveys. They collate and provide feedback to Management teams regarding the results of such surveys and other trends and assist with the development of strategies to continuously improve the employee experience.

They drive the organizational culture by sharing best practices, developing and sustaining cross functional relationships and filtering information downwards.

Performance Management

Leading a team of Human Resources, they manage performance to ensure strategy execution. They are responsible for the co-ordination of the activities of their HR teams, setting and measuring performance targets. They ensure the disciplined execution of the Performance Management process and the cascading of key performance indicators to align these to business strategy. They provide ongoing training and education to Managers on process and proactively assist them in managing poor performers.

People Management

As a Manager of a HR team, they are responsible for operational management of the team, creating and executing on plans and reporting on the team activities in the required forums. Working closely with the HR organization, they oversee the management of the human resource information systems and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the country.

Behavioral skills

They are effective listeners and problem solve people issues, thereby gaining credibility throughout the organization with management and employees. They are visionary leaders and they demonstrate the ability to interface and maintain effective working relationships with all departments. HR Directors maintain integrity and act as role models and advisors, building a cohesive team.

What will make you a good fit for the role?

Required Work Experience:

  • Solid experience to build an HR Department from scratch, both operational and strategical point of view, including a successful market-based Recruitment concept, Sourcing Plan and Strategy  

  • Extensive knowledge in HR Management within a fast-paced technology environment

  • People management experience

  • Hands on background with a global HRIS platform (e.g Workday or Success Factor)

  • Fluent in English plus French or German is mandatory
