ICT Manager Operations and Projects
Office for Vocational Education | 60-80% | Chur
The Office for Vocational Education (AFB) is a department of the Department of Education, Culture and Environmental Protection (EKUD) and implements the educational policy mandates of the federal government and canton in the field of vocational education and training. It is also a competence center for questions regarding career, school, and study choice as well as a supporting institution throughout the entire professional career.
We are looking for an ICT Manager Operations and Projects starting June 1, 2026, or by agreement, who will be responsible for the strategic, conceptual, and operational management of ICT within the framework of the digital transformation of the office.
- Development of the office's ICT strategy with a focus on further development of electronic data exchange with surrounding systems
- Operational management and coordination of the ICT area including budget planning and monitoring, procurement, as well as performance and contract management
- ICT Manager and ICT Security Manager of the office
- Creation of guidelines, instructions, concepts, etc.
- Control, management, and implementation of ICT projects including participation in preliminary studies, creation of project plans, monitoring of costs, deadlines, and achievement of objectives, as well as involvement of stakeholders
- Application responsibility for the office's basic services
- Responsibility for testing and integration of specialist applications
- Responsibility for organizing first-level support including coordination with second- and third-level support
- Leadership and deputy of the ICT supporter and ensuring the required IT know-how within the office
- Higher vocational education, university of applied sciences, or equivalent education in the ICT field with several years of professional experience
- Experience in managing ICT and digitization projects; further training such as CAS/MAS project management, IPMA, or HERMES is an advantage
- Quick comprehension, understanding of processes and contexts, organizational strengths, and a structured way of working
- Problem-solving skills and analytical, interconnected thinking
- Flexibility, teamwork skills, as well as a high degree of independence, initiative, and quality awareness
- Basic interest in vocational education
- Leadership experience
- Good German language skills in spoken and written form
- Knowledge of a second cantonal language (possibly also a third) is welcome
