Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (m/f/d) to lead our pharma construction project in Zurich, Switzerland. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design and construction of our state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong technical background who can drive project success from conception to completion.

• You lead and manage a team of engineers and construction professionals throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for complex pharmaceutical construction projects
• Ensure compliance with GMP regulations, FDA guidelines, and other relevant industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, contractors, and regulatory affairs specialists
• Oversee the design and construction of cleanrooms, production areas, and supporting facilities
• Manage project risks, resolve technical issues, and implement quality control measures
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement and installation of equipment
• Regularly report project status to senior management and stakeholders
• Optimize project processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations throughout the construction process

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or equivalent
• Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
• At least 8-10 years of experience in engineering and construction projects, with at least 5 years focused on projects in the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven track record of leading large construction projects in the pharma sector
• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, cleanroom design, and GMP regulations
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical equipment and systems
• Excellent project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
• Proven leadership qualities with experience managing cross-functional teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in project management software and CAD tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites as needed
• Fluent in English and German
