The Platform Engineering & IT Operations department develops and operates the central platforms of ZKB – Cloud and On-Prem. We work engineering-driven, automated, and consistently modernize our infrastructure.

For the introduction and further development of SRE, Observability, and operational automation, we are looking for an experienced technical leader.

Your tasks

Responsible for the SRE framework (SLIs, SLOs, Error Budgets, Post-Mortems)
Defining reliability, observability, and operational standards for all platforms (Cloud and On-Prem)
Ensuring that the ZKB platform landscape (On-Premise and Cloud) is designed, standardized, and operated to be SRE-ready.
Building and further developing a unified observability architecture (Logging, Metrics, Tracing)
Developing automation patterns for operations and reliability (GitOps, Self-Healing, Auto-Remediation)
Contributing to the Golden Paths and the Internal Developer Platform (runtime and operational standards)
Close collaboration with Compute Platforms for a harmonized Cloud/On-Prem architecture

Your profile

University degree in computer science or comparable technical education
Several years of experience in site reliability engineering, platform operations, or reliability architecture
Deep technical expertise in observability (OpenTelemetry, Metrics, Logging, Tracing) and automation standards (IaC, GitOps)
Solid know-how in operating container-based platforms (Kubernetes, AKS) and hybrid architectures
Experience with SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, Error Budgets, Post-Mortems) in complex IT organizations
Ability to standardize operating models and clearly anchor technical responsibility
Strong analytical thinking, technical leadership skills, and high implementation capability
Very good German & English skills (at least C1)
