Store Management & Volunteer Coordination 80% for the Caritas Market Wil (SG)
The Caritas Market in Wil is a lively meeting place: in addition to the store operation, there is also a well-frequented meeting café. Around 80 volunteers are committed here with great dedication – they form the backbone of our offer.
As the current post holder is retiring, we are looking for a committed individual to take over the operational management of the market and at the same time competently accompany and further develop our volunteers.
Your tasks
Management of Caritas Market
- Overall responsibility for the operational management of the market
- Ensuring smooth processes (inventory management, cash register, orders)
- Deployment planning and organisation of daily business
- Ensuring quality, hygiene and safety standards
- Further development of the offer in the store and meeting café
- Recruitment, introduction and support of around 80 volunteers
- Planning and coordination of assignments
- Promotion of a respectful and motivating team culture
- Contact person for concerns, conflicts and individual situations
- Organisation of exchange and recognition formats
- Further development of volunteer work in the market
- Maintaining and expanding contacts with the city of Wil, churches and local organisations
- Collaboration with internal Caritas departments
- Co-creating an open, welcoming place for customers
Our requirements
- Training and several years of experience in retail, ideally in the food sector
- Experience in team leadership – preferably also in dealing with volunteers
- High social competence and enjoyment of working with diverse people
- Organisational strength as well as independent and structured working style
- Resilience and flexibility in a lively operational environment
- Good communication skills and networked thinking
- Existing hospitality licence or willingness to obtain one
- Identification with the values and goals of Caritas

Workload: 80%
