The purpose of this assignment is tosupport the Unitinsourcing quality results,data,and evidence,todemonstrateUNICEF’s impact to partners and help develop effective messages for protecting and growing public and private sector funding.Theconsultant willscan acrosswiderange of programmatic areas and geographies to meet partner interests and priorities andleverageUNICEF’s systems or apply targeted outreach strategiesto UNICEF offices to access relevant information.
How can you make a difference?
Scope of Work:
This consultancy reports to the Programme Manager (Flexible Funding) and works in close collaboration with colleagues across PPD,PFP, PG,regional, and country offices.
The consultant will:

Contribute toflagship reports for flexible funding (Core Resources Annual Report and Thematic Spotlights)within BRIDGEthroughthe planning,developmentand disseminationphases.This includessourcingqualityresults whicharecompellingandalign withUNICEF’sinvestment and advocacynarrativesto partners.It also includesvalidatingthe results infinal products anddissemination messages for accuracy.

Contribute topublic and private sector partnersimpact narrativeswithin BRIDGEcarrying out partner profile analysis andcompilingtheresults and financial information related to partners’ UNICEF portfolios (Core Resources, Thematic, Earmarked). This includesanalyzing partners’ unique interests and policy priorities andscanningUNICEF’s donor reporting portal,financial systems,andotherdatasources,toidentifythe most relevant results and financial informationtoconvey joint impact.

Contribute to other assets(investment cases, transparency products) within BRIDGE supporting the sourcing of programmatic and financial data from the global,regionaland country levels.

Support the development of a suite ofresults summariestodemonstrateUNICEF’s programme impact to public and private sector donors.

Support the updating of the reporting package (guidance, templates) on thematic fundingfor UNICEF regional and country offices across development and humanitarian pools

Supportcapacity buildingon results-based reportingfor thematic fundingforUNICEF regional and country offices ensuringstaffhave the right skillset and support to communicate impact to donors.
Payment will be made on submission of an invoice and satisfactory completion of the above-mentioned deliverables. UNICF reserves the right to withhold all or aportionof payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if deliverables/outputs are incomplete, not delivered or for failure to meet deadlines. All materials developed will remain the copyright of UNICEF and UNICEF will be free to adapt andmodifythem in the future.

Educational Background:

Anadvanced university degreein one of the following fields isrequired:international relations and development, social sciences, or a related technical field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in combination with two years ofadditionalwork experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Experience:

A minimum offive(5)years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experiencein international development and experience in results-based management and reportingis required.

Strong exposure topublic and private sector partnershipsis required.

Hands-on experienceinpreparing donor reportsisrequired.

Familiarity with UN/UNICEF systems for results-based managementand reportingisrequired.

Experience indeliveringtrainingsessionstotechnicalaudiencesisrequired.
Skills:

Strongplanning, writing, analytical, strategic thinking, and creative thinkingskills,isrequired.

Strongcommunicationskills, including engaging and informative formal public speaking,isrequired.

Remarks:
Pleaseindicateyour all-inclusive (lump sum) feesin USDagainst thedeliverableslisted above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based onbestvalue for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverablessubmittedare not up to the required standard or in case of delays insubmittingthe deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits providedtherein(such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractorsare responsible fordeterminingtheir tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties,in accordance withlocal or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsibleto ensurethat the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation offully-vaccinatedstatus against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment.
