The ETH Zurich core facility NEXUS Personalized Health Technologies enables discovery and translational research for personalized health. We are recruiting a Bioinformatics Analyst for the Clinical Bioinformatics Unit in Basel, to commence immediately or by mutual agreement.
\nThe mission of Clinical Bioinformatics at NEXUS is to apply expertise in computational biology and statistics to the advancement of biomedical research and clinical applications. The primary focus of this position will be the project-tailored analysis of diverse high-throughput data sets, including e.g. single-cell and bulk transcriptomics. Further responsibilities include benchmark, development, and testing of analysis pipelines, as well as the extension of existing workflows. While projects are typically in a biomedical research setting, their scope can be very wide, ranging from basic NGS analyses to clinical reporting. In that respect, NEXUS collaborates with various academic institutions and Swiss hospitals.
\nThe successful candidate has an MSc in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field, and has experience in biomedical, genomics, or integrative research projects involving molecular data sets. He or she is experienced in high-throughput genomics/transcriptomics data analysis, where familiarity in statistics and HPC is a plus. Solid programming skills in Python or R and experience with version control are expected, as well as interest in clinical science and translational research. Familiarity in pipeline design or software development is a plus. The applicant should have excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of German is a plus. The position is fixed term for one year with the prospect of renewal. We strive for a long-term employment relationship.
\nWe look forward to receiving your online application with at least a cover letter and a CV. Please note that we exclusively accept applications submitted through our online application portal. Applications via email or postal services will not be considered.
