GF Piping Systems is one of three divisions of GF, headquartered in Schaffhausen (Switzerland). The division is a leading supplier of piping systems made of plastics and metal. GF Piping Systems focuses on system solutions and high-quality components for the safe transport of water, chemicals, and gases, as well as corresponding services. In over 100 countries through its own sales companies and representative offices and with more than 30 production sites in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, GF Piping Systems supports customers in the fields of utility, industry, and building technology.

In this global function, you are responsible for the management of transparent reporting and communication of sustainability activities and initiatives at GF Piping Systems.

You will set up a steady communication flow between the strategic and operational functions within the GF Piping Systems organization and the relevant market players/ stakeholders.

Your focus is to measure, analyze and increase the transparency of the environmental footprint of GF Piping Systems products and solutions with a proven sustainable contribution and communication towards the relevant stakeholder groups.

As part of the Global Sustainability Business development team, you will help to grow the GF Piping Systems market position into becoming a leader in Water and gas solutions with maximum sustainable value for our customers.

Ideally, you have already a network in the Water/ Wastewater business, are able to address the involved stakeholders, know and understand the relevant processes.

Global Planning/Analysis and Communication Specialist Sustainability (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • Analysis, interpretation, and reporting of sustainability accounting
  • Definition, coordination, and tracking of global Sustainability KPIs
  • Sustainability reporting: Manage, coordinate and create annual sustainability relevant publications, e.g. Sustainability Report, CDP, and various ESG reports
  • Coordination of sustainability reporting with corporate departments, working with marketing, communications, and other key functions.
  • Responsibility for reporting to Senior Management and external target groups
  • Monitoring upcoming sustainability requirements, reporting, discussing, and implementing potential impacts with internal stakeholders/committees.
  • Alignment of activities with corporate departments and further global functions
  • Perform detailed impact analysis of environmental requirements. Connect with stakeholders to understand the impact on GFPS business
  • Support definitions and implementation of Sustainability standards in line with corporate functions
  • Project manage and drive the implementation of the sustainability accounting and reporting requirements across GFPS
  • Active participation in cross-departmental projects increasing sustainability footprint
  • Prepare and present educational material to all impacted stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and review of responses to surveys from investors, customers, etc.

Your profile:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in a business setting with a focus on environmental, sustainability, or related field
  • Degree in economics/ business management, ideally with sustainability focus or environmental engineering with business/ economics background
  • Data analysis and reporting communication skills
  • Experience and/or exposure with ratings/ranking agencies and associated players. I.e. SBT-Initiative, GHG protocols
  • Basic Knowledge of legislation and relevant bodies
  • Ability to translate sustainability issues into goals and metrics, generate excitement and interest in program amongst stakeholders
  • Interest in and a strong passion for sustainability topics
  • Experience organizing and supporting a diverse group of internal contributors and stakeholders to achieve objectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (German and English), ability to facilitate working sessions with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and strong intercultural competences
  • Strong process-oriented and structured working style
  • Strong service attitude with a self-motivated personality
