The SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS are an independent public-law institution of the canton of Schaffhausen. More than 480 children and adolescents with physical and/or cognitive impairments, with speech, hearing, or other profound developmental disabilities are currently taught and supported integratively in the regular schools of the canton or separately at four locations in the city of Schaffhausen. In addition to various therapy offerings, we run a school-complementary area with lunch service, day structure, and boarding school. Over 580 employees are committed in various functions at the SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS.
For the new school year 2026/2027, we are looking for a school special education teacher as a class teacher with a workload of at least 80% for the school at Bleicheplatz.
We are a new day special school at Schaffhausen train station and currently teach 18 children and adolescents with highly challenging behavior and expect you to have experience and/or a qualification in this area.
We orient ourselves to the needs of the students and promote them in all areas of competence and teach according to the guidelines of Curriculum 21.
We live reliability even in crisis situations and develop options for further development together.
As a new team member, you support and promote a mixed class with 5–6 students of middle and upper level in a team with subject teachers, social educators, and other supporting professional staff and also create the support planning for the children and adolescents.
Team collaboration and good cooperation with parents are important to us.
We are looking for a motivated, open, flexible personality who likes to take responsibility and enables positive learning experiences for the students through a relationship-oriented environment and approaches challenging situations in a solution-oriented manner.
You have an EDK-recognized teaching qualification for secondary school and a degree in special education or are willing to pursue this promptly.
