You are about to complete your master's degree or have recently graduated? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply quantitative methods to complex real-world problems? Our trading department offers you a dynamic environment and the chance to gain deep insights into the most important global markets.

The trading department of ZKB actively manages a complex portfolio of trading books across various asset classes and the key global markets. In your 18-month traineeship, you will gain deep insights into management and risk control in trading. Theoretical models form the core of the systematic approach. However, stock markets rarely follow the mathematical textbooks. The responsible use of theoretical models and their limits in the often more chaotic reality are the focus of your training with us.

Through direct collaboration with experienced traders, you as a Focus University Trainee will gain close insights into the trading business. In addition to operational support of the traders, you will independently drive projects related to the team's trading infrastructure and work closely with the quant, engineering, and risk teams.

Your tasks

You support the traders in operational work and learn the dynamics of the various markets
You create quantitative market and risk analyses and contribute to the development of prototypes (e.g., for automatic pricing algorithms, quantitative trading strategies, or analysis tools)
You independently take on project work related to the team's trading infrastructure and work closely with the quant, engineering, and risk teams
You assist in pricing trading products
You share responsibility for the trading results of the financial products we manage
You know our trading and settlement processes and actively help shape them, as well as accompany the technical implementation of the associated adjustments to our IT infrastructure

Your profile

Master's student or graduate in a quantitative discipline and/or Quant Finance
Passion for quantitative methods and solutions
Interest in (financial) mathematical models
Programming skills, ideally also experience in applying machine/deep learning
Internship or master's thesis in finance, trading, or modeling is an advantage
Good German and English skills
Above-average precise and reliable working style
Excellent analytical skills
