Certified nurse in pediatric intensive and intermediate care
To complete our teams, we are looking for certified nurses in pediatric intensive and intermediate care units, with a workload between 80% - 100%. Start date: March 1, 2026, or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Woman-Mother-Child Department (DFME) includes the Gynecology, Obstetrics, Neonatology, Pediatrics, and Child and Adolescent Surgery Services. More than 1,500 professionals work within this department. We care for women throughout their lives in gynecological, obstetrical, and psychosocial aspects, as well as children from birth to adolescence.
The pediatric intensive and intermediate care units (SIPI and SIPS) care for children aged 0 to 18 years with serious medical or surgical conditions requiring intensive monitoring and/or support of a vital function (respiratory, cardiac, etc.) as well as highly specialized treatments. Children and adolescents benefit from continuous monitoring (24/7) and medical and nursing support adapted to their age and condition. The team provides interdisciplinary care in a secure and technologically advanced environment. As the only units of this type in the canton of Vaud, SIPI and SIPS are also reference centers for neighboring cantons and for all of Switzerland within the framework of Highly Specialized Medicine (MHS) services.
Mission
- You carry out, in collaboration with the care team and doctors, comprehensive patient care (technical and relational care, advice, and therapeutic education) for all medical-surgical pathologies of infants, children, and adolescents, in a multidisciplinary approach centered on the patient and their family
- You ensure the proper execution of delegated medical acts and take responsibility for them
- You actively participate in welcoming patients and their relatives as well as in organizing work, ensuring the smooth running and continuity of the unit's activities.
Profile
- You hold a Swiss nursing diploma or have Swiss Red Cross recognition
- You have at least 2 years of experience in pediatric care
- Experience in acute pediatric care with mastery of NIV would be an asset
- You have good autonomy, initiative, and a well-developed sense of organization
- You are motivated to train in intermediate care (training duration: 26.5 days) or specialize in intensive care (training duration: 2 years).
