The Department of Biomedical Engineering (DBE) at the University of Basel is a joint venture between the University of Basel, the University Hospital Basel, and the University Children’s Hospital Basel. The DBE currently employs approximately 130 researchers who conduct cutting-edge research in the field of biomedical engineering in collaboration with the hospitals. Robotics & lasers, imaging and analysis, the development of analytical and forensic methods, medical 3D printing, and biomaterials are among the areas in which we conduct research. The DBE offers a PhD program and together with the FHNW a Master of Science. In addition, the DBE is the birthplace of a number of award-winning medical technology spin-offs.
Research and teaching at the DBE are supported by a highly motivated and service-oriented research support team, for which we are looking for a new colleague who will collaborate in the area of communication and research support.
Your position
- Proactive direct contact to the research groups to report on and promote the research at DBE through social media, newsletter, UNIverse, webnews
- Delivering support during events
- Sharing the responsibility for visual content creation for the Department
- participating in and co-developing internal and external communication
Your profile
- Master in a scientific or communication discipline
- Social media competency (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram)
- Fluent in English & German, skilled writer ("translator") of scientific subjects for the general public
- Project management
- Competent use of the Adobe Creative Cloud package
- Background complementary to qualification (worked in scientific environment or communication)
- Teamplayer
- Able to work in an international setting
